Dear Colorado Beer Lover:

HB1279 (G-Store) has been scheduled for the House Finance Committee on April 28. If we act now, we can stop this bill. This bill, if enacted, will create an oligopoly or cartel of large box beer sellers in Colorado. Craft beer selection will be reduced, and beer lovers will pay more for it. The added convenience of one-stop shopping in a grocery store may not be worth the reduction in the availability of Colorado craft beer, wine & spirits. Your local liquor store will have a tough time surviving in this new environment. If this concerns you, help CBG take action!

1. Please take action and ask for the NO vote for the eighteen legislators listed below. Phone numbers and email addresses are provided for the eighteen. Also find YOUR Colorado Representative and contact him or her. If you do not know who that is go to: http://www.votesmart.org enter your full zip code and locate your Colorado State Representative found under the State Legislative section.

2. Please leave a voice mail and send an email that says the following to the eighteen representatives (or draft your own message namely, Vote NO on HB1279 -- preserve jobs, save Colorado beer by maintaining vital access to market for Colorado brewers).

These bills are putting my beer at risk because my favorite brewery is less likely to get vital shelf space if corporate chains stores control the beer Colorado beer market. If I can’t get find my favorite craft beer on the shelf, I can’t buy it. Access to market is critical in the beer industry and these bills move in the wrong direction. They will kill jobs, not grow them. Colorado is the envy of the nation when it comes to craft beer and these bills will change that. Please vote NO and preserve primary employer jobs in Colorado. Our brewers make stuff, they brew beer. That’s important. Help Colorado Brewers grow, and grow the state economy. These bills mean less selection and higher prices for Colorado beer lovers, like me and I am upset.
